Matt earned his JD degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1994. He then worked as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John A. Terry of the D.C. Court of Appeals. Matt believed that in starting his own practice he could effectively help people facing legal difficulties.

​Since then, Matt has focused his practice in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia, representing numerous clients in state and federal courts in criminal and traffic matters.
